Ladies Tour Zillertaler Höhenstraße August 9-11, 2019

On Friday, when the weather is fine, seven BMW ladies will meet in Starnberg. Quickly fill up the motorcycles and then you can start. Bärbel not only took over the planning and organization, but also programmed their new TomTom and that shows us a completely confusing route around Starnberg.

Fortunately, Angelika knows the operation and we find a wonderful way to the southwest. We drive to Brannenburg on beautiful little streets with lots of curves to stop for a drink and ice cream. We continue via Kiefersfelden to Kufstein, over the Inn into the Alpachtal and further into the Zillertal. In the late afternoon we reach our first destination, the "Small Hotel" in Stumm. We are happy to finally be able to take off our motorcycle clothes in the great heat. To our great joy, the hotel has a roof terrace where we meet for a refreshing drink. It quickly becomes clear that we are a harmonious group and there is a lot to tell.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant and we enjoy both dinner and delicious wine. Time flies and we fall into bed late at night.

There will be a rich breakfast on Saturday after a few early risers have taken a walk and taken some nice photos. With curious observation of other hotel guests, we get our machines out of the garage. Of course, a group picture has to be taken quickly before starting towards the Zillertaler Höhenstraße.

Since we started very early, there is hardly any traffic - but suddenly nothing works: a truck driving downhill compels us to take a short break, but soon we continue and we now stop at the Almgasthaus Zirmstadl for a drink break. The existing bobby cars and kettcars must of course be driven immediately and offer a welcome photo opportunity.

Then it goes on and we drive in bright sunshine on the beautiful mountain road. At the highest point we stop again for a group photo. First Anja, then a tourist climbs over the rocks to take the perfect picture.

Then it goes on and gradually downhill again and we drive over the Gerlos Pass to the Durlaßboden storage facility in Hochkrimml. Although the water is quite cold, a few girls actually swim in the lake and the refreshment is just wonderful.

Then we continue to Mittersill, where we spend the night in the "Gasthof Schweizerhaus".

Since we are already there in the early evening, Angelika and I decide to go up to Enzingerboden. A terrific ride - no traffic, but lots of small curves that make us both shine. We are happy that we went up here. When it starts to rain lightly, we make our way back.

Tired but enthusiastic, we all meet for dinner. Today we notice the kilometers that we have covered and all go to our beds a little earlier.
One last breakfast together on Sunday and then we start our journey home.

Since we all got on so well, there will be a cozy dinner with Marion in October and we are looking forward to seeing you again.
