IMOT trade fair visit and donation handover to MEHRSi

On Sunday, February 17th it was that time again: more than 20 members of our club met again at IMOT in 2019 for the traditional white sausage breakfast. Many participants took advantage of the almost spring-like weather and got their GS out of the garage for the journey. We talked shop again, discussed the latest trends and news and exchanged information about the upcoming tours.

After an extensive tour of the fair, our members met on the main stage of the fair in Hall 4 to hand over the symbolic donation check to the managing director of MEHRSi Monika Schwill. The GS Club International eV has undertaken in its statutes to support a charitable project from the membership fees every year. In addition, 100% of the proceeds from the raffle at our annual Christmas party, at which we are supported by many well-known companies and our partners with donations in kind, go to the respective donation project.
For 2018, the general meeting of our club decided that we would like to support the MEHRSi project - More safety for bikers - with our annual donation. As a non-profit association, MEHRSi works in collaboration with authorities, experts, interest groups, motorcycle clubs, manufacturers and industry to ensure that crash barriers on accident-prone routes are defused with underride protection, thereby significantly increasing safety for us motorcyclists in the event of a fall. You can find out more about MEHRSi here: mehrsi.org

Thanks to the initiative of Monika Schwill and with the support of the managing director of IMOT Petra Zahradka, the first board of the BMW GS Club International Haukur Haraldsson and the board of finance Peter Kistner were able to receive the symbolic donation check of 1 euros in front of a large audience on the main stage of the IMOT hand over. The campaign was accompanied by Rockantenne Bayern program director and managing director Guy Fränkel. Guy Fränkel spontaneously declared that he would round up the donation amount to 1.620 euros!

The IMOT was a wonderful setting for our charity campaign and, together with the many hundreds of interested viewers, contributed to the successful conclusion of this year's IMOT.
Many thanks to Petra Zahradka and Guy Fränkel for the great support!
