Donation from the BMW GS Club

As part of our annual charity project, we were able to present a check for €1.670 to the Johanniter motorcycle unit in February 2026.

The Johanniter motorcycle squadron

Travel time

Long journey, heat, standstill. Several minor incidents create confusing situations on the road. The Johanniter (St. John Ambulance) are still managing to get through on their motorcycles. A driver is completely exhausted. The motorcycle unit attends to him and provides first aid.

big event
Thousands of participants, long queues on the streets. The Johanniter accompany the route, are present at critical points and can intervene, quickly arriving with their agile vehicles when support is needed.

Support for the emergency services
An operation is already underway, but the situation is dynamic. The motorcycle unit is conducting reconnaissance patrols, can quickly change its location, and relay information on-site to other forces as quickly as possible.

Bottleneck in city traffic
City center, heavy traffic, no way through for large vehicles. The Johanniter (St. John Ambulance) move quickly through narrow streets, reach the scene of the incident and initiate first aid measures until further help arrives.

In short: The motorcycle aid station brings help to where every minute counts.

We are pleased with the press release from the Johanniter (abridged).

Joyful faces at our station in Puchheim: Our motorcycle unit has received a donation of €1.670. The symbolic check was presented by Lutz Köhler and Harald Fix from the BMW GS Club International e.V.

Ralf Speicher, Jörg Jablonowski and Andreas Lechner, representing the Johanniter motorcycle squadron based in Allershausen, accepted the great support together with their machines.

“We are very grateful for the donation. It gives us planning security for the nationwide Johanniter motorcycle squadron meeting, which we will be hosting in Allershausen in September. However, we will primarily use the money to purchase a new BMW motorcycle,” says Ralf Speicher, head of the squadron of our regional association.

The new addition will be a BMW F800 or F900 GS-P, according to Speicher. The motorcycle is intended to replace an older model that can then be retired due to its age.

Lutz Köhler, deputy chairman of the BMW GS Club, explains why they chose the Johanniter: “This time we decided to donate to the Johanniter motorcycle unit because they are always on the road for us motorcyclists and do so much for us. But even in situations like traffic jams, the unit members are quickly on the scene and always ready to help. They all sacrifice an incredible amount of their free time for us.”

For our regional association, this donation is a strong sign of appreciation for volunteer work. Every contribution helps to ensure the operational readiness of the unit and to provide modern technology – so that help reaches those who need it.
